Pioneer and perfecter of our faith -
May we consider You - the One who endured hostility from sinners and the One who endured the cross.
May we join the great cloud of witnesses surrounding us - witnesses who help us lay aside the weights and sins that cling so closely to us. Witnesses who help us run with perseverance the race set before us.
May we look to You, who for the sake of joy set before You, disregarded the cross’ shame and took Your seat at the right hand of God’s throne.
May our consideration, our joining, and our looking lead us to hope-filled lives in which we may not grow weary or lose heart.
In the name of the One in whom God has been glorified, we pray.
Amen.
