Lord, our God –
May we hear Your word and teaching that call us to action.
We stretch out our hands in prayer, yet they are full of blood. We assemble for Sabbath, yet we are solemn and full of iniquity.
You are weary of bearing our appointed festivals full of scarlet sins.
May we wash ourselves and make ourselves clean. May we cease doing evil and learn to do good – seeking justice, rescuing the oppressed, defending the orphan, and pleading for the widow.
Amen.
