Refuge, Shelter, and Shade -
You set the table for us. A table overflowing with rich food and well-aged wines.
Yet, a shroud spreads over us as if we are dead and waiting for burial. Enter our lives, living God, and destroy that shroud. Swallow up death forever, and wipe away our tears.
We will wait and watch for Your death-defying work.
For this is our God for whom we wait - a God whose plans are faithful and sure…a God who gives refuge to us - the poor and needy…a God who shelters us from rainstorms and shades us from heat…a God who makes a feast for us…a God who removes our disgraces and who saves us.
May we be glad and rejoice in Your salvation.
For You have done, are doing, and will do wonderful things.
Amen.
