Lord -
You implore us - Your people, Your seekers - to listen to You. May we hear Your words resonate within our souls.
When we lose our sense of selves, may we heed Your word and look to the rock from which we were hewn…to the quarry from which we were dug. May we sit with our ancestors’ stories and confessions of faith and wonder how our stories and confessions interweave with theirs.
When we feel weary and wasted, may we remember that You comfort us…that You turn our wildernesses into Edens and our deserts into gardens. May we find within us joy, gladness, thanksgiving, and the voice of song.
When we find ourselves in the dark, may the light of Your justice and Your teaching pull us and guide us through our dark days and nights. May we trust in Your salvation that is forever and in Your unending deliverance.
Amen and amen.
