Jesus –
Too often we try to discern who our neighbor is and who our neighbor is not…who is in and who is out…who we love as ourselves and who we don’t.
Too often we leave one another for half dead.
Too often we go down roads, see those in pain, and pass by on the other side.
May our souls be stirred with compassion. May we go toward all who ache and bandage their wounds, their traumas. May we pour oil and wine upon them, bring them to shelter, and take care of them.
May we give and receive scandalous mercy. May we do this and live.
Amen.
