One who welcomes sinners and eats with them –
We come near to listen to You, and You tell us a parable.
A loved one squanders property freely given and finds themselves in need…gladly desiring the pods the pigs ate.
A loved one comes to themselves and sets off to return to the one who gave them so much.
While still far off, the one who loves them sees them, is filled with compassion, runs to them, places their arms around them, and kisses them.
You place a robe, ring, and sandals on their body, and a celebration with feasting, music, and dancing begins.
For all that is Yours is ours.
From death to life, from being lost to being found, we celebrate and rejoice.
Amen.
