Lord –
All the people gather before the Water Gate, and the priest brings Your law before the assembly. May we be present to the reading of the law that You gave us and attend to Your book.
When the book opens before us, may we stand, answer with amens, and lift our hands. May we bow our heads and worship with faces to the ground. For Your book both uplifts us and humbles us.
May we hear, receive, and understand the reading of Your law, and may we respond to the reading with love – eating, drinking, and sending portions to those for whom nothing is prepared.
Gathering. Assembling. Reading. Attending. Standing. Lifting. Bowing. Receiving. Responding. Eating. Drinking. Serving. This action-filled day of worship before the Water Gate is holy to You.
May Your joy be our strength.
Amen.
