O God, O Lord -
Deliver us from those who seek to destroy our lives and from those who desire to hurt us.
Help us, O Lord, for we are poor and needy.
Save us, O Lord, for You are our help and deliverer.
Do not delay, O Lord, for we need You today and in the days to come.
As You hasten to meet us, may we hasten to seek You - the source of our joy and gladness…the source of our salvation…the source of our deliverance.
You are great, O God! May we abide in Your greatness.
In the name of the One who makes Herself known to those who desire Her, we pray.
Amen.
(Note for the feminine personification of the Divine: Our prayer’s closing phrase comes from the Wisdom of Solomon 6:13 - a canonical book in the Catholic and Orthodox Christian traditions that portrays God’s Wisdom as feminine.)
